IC-471, IC-475, IC-703, IC-706, IC-718, IC-725, IC-726, IC-728, IC-735, IC-736, IC-738, IC-746, IC-756, IC-761, IC-765, IC-775, IC-781, IC-970, IC-7000, IC-7200, IC-7700, IC-R10, IC-R71, IC-R72, IC-R700, IC-R7000, IC-R7100, IC-R9000, and other rigs that list an Icom CT-17 as an option. Also TenTec Argonaut II, Delta II.

Buy the W1GEE LCU3-I-USB cable (USB cable).

Or buy the W1GEE LCU3-I Cable terminated with a 1/8” phone plug on one end and a 9-pin female DB9 serial connector on the other. You may also purchase a separate USB-RS232 adapter.

These interfaces replace Icom’s CT-17.
IC-751A, IC-271 A/H, 471 and 1271A

Requires a UX-14 interface or compatible replacement. Look for a 1/8" phone jack labeled REMOTE or something like that on the back of your rig.

If you have a UX-14 installed in your radio, all you need is the LCU3-I-USB cable (with a USB jack).

Or buy the W1GEE LCU3-I Cable terminated with a 1/8” phone plug on one end and a 9-pin female DB9 serial connector on the other. You may also purchase a separate USB-RS232 adapter.
IC-7600 & 7410

The Icom 7600 & 7410 has a built-in USB=>RS232 adapter. Use a common
USB A-B cable (CA-USB).

Be sure to Install the drivers as instructed in the manual.

An LCU3-I level converter may be used also.
IC-7800

The IC-7800 has a built-in interface and needs only an inexpensive straight-thru cable with a female connector at one end, and a male at the other. Order the Serial Extension Cable.

If your computer does not have a free RS-232 port, order our USB-RS232 adapter.

You may use our LCU-3 interface if you wish to take advantage of the CI-V technology which allows you to run several rigs on the same serial port.

The Ten-Tec Orion & Orion 2 need a straight-thru RS-232 extension cable, male on one end, female on the other. Order the Serial Extension Cable.

If your computer does not have a free RS-232 port, order our USB-RS232 adapter.

KENWOOD          KENWOOD          KENWOOD
TS-440*, TS-450, TS-690, TS-790, TS-850, TS-950, R-5000*, and other rigs that list a Kenwood IF-232C as an option.

Buy the W1GEE LCU3-K Level Converter Cable terminated with a male 6-din plug. This plugs into a serial port. It replaces Kenwood’s IF-232C.

If your computer does not have a free RS-232 port, order our USB-RS232 adapter.

*TS-440 & R-5000 need the CHSET-1 Chipset installed in the radio. Equivalent to IC-10. This is in addition to the LCU3-K Level Converter Cable.

TS-50, TS-711, TS-811, TS-940, TS-140, TS-680 need an interface board installed inside the radio. Order the LCU3-K Cable if your rig already has this board. If it does not, order the replacement interface board (see right).
IF-10R Interface Boards

These boards are a plug-and-play replacement for the Kenwood units. Additionally, they include a TTL-RS-232 level converter. You do not need our LCU-3K or Kenwood's IF232C.

The RS-232 connector is a 9-pin female DB-9.

TS-711, TS-811 - IF-10A board

TS-940 - IF-10B board

TS-140, TS-680 - IF-10C board

Click here to buy IF-10R boards.

If your computer does not have a free RS-232 port, order the USB-RS232 adapter.

The TS-50 requires an IF-10D interface, which we do not have, and for which we cannot find a source. Kenwood no longer makes them.

TS-2000, TS-870S, TS-590, TS-570, TS-480 series.

These rigs have a built-in interface and need only an inexpensive straight-thru cable with a female connector at one end, and a male at the other. Order the RS-232 Extension Cable, or one of our USB=>RS232 adapters. A USB=>RS232 adapter will plug directly into these rigs.

If your computer does not have a free RS-232 port, order the USB-RS232 adapter.
TS-711, TS-811, TS-940, TS-140, TS-680

Buy the W1GEE LCU3-K Level Converter Cable terminated with a male 6-din plug if the radio already has a Kenwood IF-10A/B/C interface board.

In addition, you may also want the USB-RS232 Adapter.

If the radio does not have the board, see the interface boards above.

If your computer does not have a free RS-232 port, order the USB-RS232 adapter.

The FT-3000 and FT-991 have a direct USB connection.  Consult the FTDX3000 Series CAT Reference Book for driver download and setup.  Order a USB A-B cable (CA-USB) if you don't already have one lying around.

The FT-991 also has a built-in RS-232 port. Order the CA-DB9F-DB9F if you wish to use an RS-232 port.

FT-847

Has a built-in interface. Uses a null-modem cable.

If your computer does not have a free RS-232 port, order our USB-RS232 adapter.
FT-757GX -- Sorry, no interface available. This rig has very limited computer control capability. It cannot send data to the computer, and you cannot even set the mode by computer. See October 1985 QST, page 38 for an article on how to build your own interface.

Note that the newer FT-757GXII has good computer interface capability, and we sell an interface for it. See above.

The FT-77 does not support computer interfacing.
