Dennis, during installation, this error came up twice.

And, now that I've started and stopped LOGic a few times, I see the same thing as Allen(N5XZ) does....same error every time, twice with every startup.

Installing the latest update should fix this.

Try downloading and retaining the .34 update. Delete LOGic.exe and data\prefixexceptions.xml from the c:\program files (x86)\LOGic folder. Perhaps the permissions are messed up and it isn't letting the installer delete the old files.

Let me know.

Thanks, Dennis. I did as you said, deleted LOGic.exe and pfxexceptions.xml then installed .34 again and that looks to have fixed things. Thanks!!!

Yeah, did the same thing and working here now, too. However, I've been getting the attached error message for many updates, I have just hit OK and the installations continued. See attached.

OK, I could not reproduce any problem importing eQSL.

It looks like the update didn't install properly.

I don't think the error installing SlimDX is actually a problem. It is the same version we have used for years, and would not affect eQSL. It is used for playing sound. Did the installation continue? I have seen this error before. Don't know what's causing it.

Does Help/About show 10.0.34?

Are you still getting runtime errors?

Dennis,

After reinstalling .34 downloading eQSL is working again, no problem.

I just ignore the error message when installing the new versions.

I still get occasional crashes...sometimes LOGic just terminates for no apparent reason... and no error messages. Aggrevating...

Did you see the FOC file I downloaded for you to look at? I could not import it in its current form.

Hi Allen, hope you are well !!

Dont torture yourself......1st, get a link for SlimDx Runtime, its easy as pie to run the installer and have it "repair" itself. I kept a copy and will send a link. 2nd, maybe you have done this but if your running Windows then run the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool, it can find faulty RAM. It takes 2 passes to finish, each pass takes about an hour so patience is required, also beforehand close all apps, the tool will restart the PC then run, once finished it will restart the PC again and report if any issues found. If you do have a problem it will also say so while running and you can just exit instead of waiting for it to run through the entire process. That will at least tell you if you have any memory issues. Apps randomly closing is a sign of a potential memory problem. 3rd, if your running windows, and maybe you tried this as well, get into the windows command prompt (administrative), just type command in the windows search bar and click on the command with administrative rights and it will open a window. Type SFC /Scannow and it will launch the system file check service, if it finds any issues it will attempt to fix them, if it can't it will say so. When its done just type EXIT at the prompt.

Hate to see a fellow LOGic user have these annoying issues !!

Let us know !!

Best 73, de Brad K8ZM

PS: Was having issues with windows randomly restarting and random apps closing. Not often and no pattern but just a couple times over a few months. At the point of "I'm too damn old for this %$#& !! I ran the memory diagnostic tool and it reported memory issues. Took the PC in for service and they reported the same issue. Had the ram replaced, full diagnostics done and memory re-tested, all was good till the next day and same issues except worse. Back in the next day and they found the CPU was the problem, swapped it out for a new (and better) CPU and all good so far. Running almost 24 hrs now with heavy use and many apps running concurrently, no issues. BigGrin

Thanks, Brad. I'll try all those things. The thing is, I've had these issues for years now and with my last computer as well. When I got this new computer, nothing really changed. I admit it isn't the top of the line computer (HP Elitedesk).

Will report back...

New install: I get the attached error message as usual, click ok and the install continues. Still cannot D/L eQSL, I get webdriver errors. I'll see if I have the latest Chrome driver...

Ok, you can safely ignore that error (SlimDX).

Chrome will not work until I get the new update out. Tonite if we are lucky.

LOGic now downloads the latest webdriver automatically when needed. I suppose you could still download it manually.

Google changed the locations etc. of the webdriver downloads. Also, there is an API you now need to call to get the proper webdriver version and download URL. That's why everything went to hell.... The temporary solution is to set Edge as the default browser.

On the PrefixException error--not sure how things are getting out of sync. Installing the latest update should fix it. If not, let me know. Not this next release, but I will clean that code up so you only get the error once if things get out of sync. And, it's not really an error. It's just to let you know that you don't have the latest exception file. You can ignore it.

Installed .35. Same SlimDX Runtime .NET 4.0 x86 error message as before (attached). I did get an OLE error message when I initially tried to d/l eQSL records (sorry, I didn't capture it). When I clicked OK, the program terminated immediately. Restarted and the eQSL d/l went fine that time.

Allen,

Running Slim DX Runtime (select repair) attached above will clear the runtime error. I just ran it for 10.00.35 and no more error.

OK, I did the Slim DX Runtime repair. We'll see what happens next time LOGic is updated.

Thanks!

I run the repair then re-install the LOGic update so I know it worked and wasnt something else causing it. Every now and then LOGic still reports a Slim DX Runtime error, I just run the repair tool then re-install.

Dennia has stated multiple times the error doesnt cause any issues but I still like to see the install go without errors.

Enjoy !!
