I don't actually have one yet, but this line of computers looks worth checking out:
http://frame.workLong story short, this line is very upgradable, customizable, and user-repairable. The line, including laptops, feature 6 easily-swappable "expansion cards" that add USB, DisplayPort, HDMI, 1/8" Audio Jack, Ethernet, and even up to 1 terabyte extra storage.
They are committed to keeping their laptop case design consistent, so that when you want to upgrade your CPU, you can keep your case and monitor. Simply swap out the motherboard (Laptops do not have socketed CPU). An inexpensive case is available to make a mini-PC out of your old motherboard (13" lie only).
The 16" line features upgradeable video cards for gamers and other users where the on-board video is not sufficient.
The downside is that touch-screen is only available on the 12" line. Also, shipments for the latest AI-
7 and AI 9 processors is delayed.
I am looking at the 16" line. Hopefully, my current machine will last another 6 months or a year. By then, supply issues will be resolved. There are indicators that there are plans to add touch-screen to their 16" line (connectors on the motherboard.) No touchscreen would not be a deal-breaker for me, but it is a feature I use ocasionally.
What do y'all think?
