I have been getting the above error when downloading from LoTW although I had to delete the letter EOH and characters (< because the apparently crash the forum software. No problem uploading. This followed doing a big upload of all QSO's back many years to make sure none were missed. Quite a few were and I got a giant download of old confirmations. How do I fix this?

Thanks

Hi Ron:

Yeah, ASP.NET gets upset if you upload Less-than and Greater-Then pairs -- thinks you are trying to post malicious HTML or something.

Sorry, I don't follow why you had to delete the EOH markers. ADIF won't work without it. That would explain why LOGic threw the "No end of header..." error.

Pse zip up the file you are getting back from LoTW and post it here or email it to me.

Where would I find the file? BTW, I didn't delete anything from any file. I was able to manually download the ADIF file from LoTW and then use the Import File From LoTW button successfully, but "Import Directly from Web" waits for awhile, then gives me the error.

Ok, sorry, I misunderstood you.

I think this is what is happening. You click the IMPORT DIRECTLY FROM WEB button and the ARRL is sending you something that is not an ADIF file. You can see what LotW is sending you by looking for a file named LOTW.TMP in the LOGic install folder (typically c:\program files (x86)\logic).

Make sure that the Open LoTW Site in Browser button works. Mine didn't work either until I requested a new password and entered it into LOGic. They may have changed my password. I requested a new one so I can log in, but now can find no way to set it to what I usually use.

Once I got the correct password entered into LOGic, it all works.

However, even when the password in LOGic is wrong, I don't get an error. It just won't log in. So if you continue to get the error, look in lotw.tmp and see what's in there.

Tnx & 73,

It just started working again! I think the problem may have been related to the size of the file, which was >5MB, but now that the big bunch of QSL's has cleared, it's getting to the EOF the way it should.

Ok, it was probably just something temporary going on at ARRL.

Dennis:

It started happening again over the weekend. I get the "Login successful, proceeding with import", but it is followed by "No End-of-header mark ... found". the Open LoTW site in browser does not work, either, but even after re-entering the user name and password that works directly on the site, the import function seems to fail. I checked the LoTW.tmp file and it was blank.

What now?

Ok, an empty file would explain the missing EOH marker hihi.

I think I moved lotw.tmp to the tmp folder inside LOGic, so check there too. Delete the one in the LOGic folder.

BUT, I can't even log in manually. The browser does a postback, but it does not log me in and does not report a bad user or password.

I will try later.

The LoTW.tmp file is still in the LOGic directory and has today's modification date. I can log in to LoTW with a regular browser, and I checked to make sure the username and passwords were the same in LOGic. Maybe the ARRL changed part of their log-in protocol?

Ok, I still can't log in. Must be a problem here. I will reset my password then call them if necessary.

I reset my password, and I can now log in, LOGic can log in, and LoTW Import works -- everything 100% OK.

I'm sure I entered my old password correctly. They must have changed it or lost it.

Don't know why yours isn't logging in. I am using Win 10.

Anyway, I am in the process of bypassing the browser altogether, so will have that available soon.

DH

Ok, here is an update that does not use the browser to log into LoTW. Should be much cleaner.

It has been working fine here for the past two days, but then the log in with browser has been too.

Make sure there isn't some "internet protection" software or something blocking LOGic from accessing the internet.

Dennis,

Just a quick question. Before we try this file out, why is the file size 3X larger than previous files?
