9.0.65 Won't Do SETTIME

When I try to do Internet>Set Time To NIST> Set Now the LOGic 9 gives me a NISTTIME Error 232 nisttime.winsock.Error.0

Same thing happens at startup.

And, when I try to connect on Telnet it doesn't try to connect and it tells me that it can't set the system clock.

Please advise.

G'Day,

WinSock errors indicate you have a problem with your PCs network connection/internet connection - probably your PC.

LOGic sends a few packets to/from the Internet to get the time using system library tools.

Was your Internet operational at the time? Clearly your Internet probably works now - you have posted to the forum.

Does the error still occur?

If it happens again, reboot your PC, restart your Internet Connection equipment, run LOGic CLEAN, and try again.

Turn OFF "Set at LOGic startup" at Tools, Internet, Set clock to NIST until you find the problem.

Tried all of this and no joy.

All other apps that rely on internet connectivity are fine.

Also, even with Set Clock To NIST disabled, telnet still wont start. I submit that the problem is in the latest version of LOGic. As I stated earlier, the problem was absent with older versions.

Just tested on Win 7 x64, LOGic 9.0.65. I don't use it since I've used NetTime for ages
(http://www.timesynctool.com/) for that. No cost; runs on most anything from Win 95 to Server 2012.

Sorry, I have been tied up a bit lately. I read your other thread regarding this, and just want to point out that we do have a phone. Anyway, I appreciate your continued patience.

There were no changes to SetTime or Telnet in the several updates to LOGic.

Try temporarily disabling any virus checkers or internet protection software. If that allows LOGic to work, you need to reenable your virus checker and add an exception for LOGic.

I posted the .61 logic.exe here if you want to roll back. However, if it works, that would again point to the virus checker blocking it -- it allows the .61 version and not the .65 version. If .61 no longer works either, then we can look elsewhere.

Just put this logic.exe in the LOGic install folder. Keep a copy of the .65 logic.exe, or just install the update again. The LOGic install folder is in c:\program files (x86) or c:\program files

I am having the same problem with .65 version too getting NISTTIME Error 232 nisttime.winsock.Error.0. All of my apps that access the internet all work fine and I have a standalone program that checks NIST times and it works fine as well.

Try it again. My .65 was acting up too, so I was going to install .61 to see if it fixed it or not. But first I went to verify that .65 failed, and it is working now.

I seriously doubt it is a version issue. It is an isolated piece of code we haven't touched in years.

I'll look at the servers it uses and see if there are any newer ones we could use.

I just redid that code in .net, using NTP protocol. More accurate supposedly. I have some other stuff I am working on, but look for an update soon.
