I installed Version 62. My web call book lookup through QRZ XML subscriptions does not work. When try to use the lookup, I get a screen asking for user and password. When I enter the password and user and hit okay, I same screen comes back asking for user and password again and again.

I did a system restore so that logic is back to Version 61 and my web call book through QRZ XML subscription works fine.

Please let me what the problem may be

Thanks

Hi Steve:

Sorry for the problem.

I could not reproduce it here. I cleared out my callbooks.ini file so it would ask for the user and password again. I entered it, and it worked no problem.

Also, merely installing .62 did not cause it to ask for the password again. It kept working without reentering it again. Only after I deleted callbooks.ini (which stores the user and password), did it ask for the user and password.

So, I suspect there is something going on with your subscription, although admittedly if that were the case, .61 wouldn't work either. So don't know.

Please send me the XML that appears in the callbook window -- maybe that will give me a clue.

Tnx & 73,

I re-downloaded Version 62 & re-installed. I still have the same problem. Listed below is the error messages I get.

<?xml version= "1.0" encoding = "iso8859-1" ?>
<qrz database version = "1.24" xmlns = "http://xmldata.qrz.com" >
<session>
<error> password incorrect: xxxxxxxxx <error>
<gm time> fri apr 11 23:53:39 2014 </gm time>
<remark> cpu: 0.018s </remote>
</session>
</qrz database>

Dennis, my password is 10 digits long. The password listed above is short a digit. Is this possibly the problem. When asked for the user & password, I enter the correct 10 digit password but if program is only accepting 9 digits that would cause the error. The 10 digit password works in Version 61 with not problems

Thanks for your help

I think you are onto something with the long password. Mine is a lot shorter. Don't know why it got broken in .62 tho -- I changed one line of code to use a different XML decoder. Maybe the new decoder has an issue. Will look at it later today hopefully. Sorry for the problem and thanks for your help!
