Dennis,

Many, many moons ago I reported an occasional error when playing a CW message from WinKey. Sometimes (perhaps every 1 out of 3 or 4 times) the message will "jump ahead" and not send all the characters. Please see the link below for an example. The 2nd time the message is sent, it is sent incorrectly. If you watch the WinKey window, you will see the highlighted section jump ahead. If you look at the micro KEYER you will see what is actually sent. I've been living with it but thought, Why Not go ahead and send this info to you.

Another issue I found is the "CW Keyer Function Keys" window at the bottom. As you can see, it is missing message 17 and 19.

Thanks, this is not an urgent issue, but perhaps something you can fix for the next release.

Thanks,
73, Allen N5XZ

Hi Alan:

I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. Thanks for the followup.

The "missing" function keys are easy. Just make the window a little taller. Drag the bottom border down a bit.

Thanks for the video. I see the issue.

How are you causing WinKey to send the message? Clicking the function key button multiple times? How are you getting the pause at the end of the CQ? Does speed matter? I have Winkey version 9 which I cannot get to fail. Maybe if I set it up like yours....

Tnx & 73,

Dennis,

Dragging the window has no effect on the numbers, 17 and 19 are still missing.

Regarding the WinKey setup...not sure what you mean by the setup. I activate the messages in multiple way...either the keyboard function key, or using the buttons on either of the WinKey windows. I am using a microHAM micro KEYER II and have been for years. I can snip those windows but not sure it will tell you anything. If you want me to, I will.

The error occurs intermittently with no rhyme or reason. I did notice that if I tap the paddle during the erroring message, it will stop and will be ok the next time it is sent.

And no, I am not tapping the button more than once.

Thanks, Allen N5XZ

Hi--

I still don't follow how you are repeatedly sending the message. Is speed an issue? Does the issue still occur if you leave a little more time between transmissions?

I think the best thing to do is call me and I can log in and take a look.
