Below is a log of version releases and what was added or changed. There is no information available for some builds, as they usually include only cosmetic changes, minor feature changes or bug fixes requested by an individual that do not affect most users.
6.0.167 (9/24/2003)
• Rearranged rows and columns on the short/long/there/return direction display of the DX calculator to be consistent with the info form.
6.0.166 (9/22/2003)
• Fixed bug where RST was changed to 59(9) when using Force Log (F6) when the Default RST to 59(9) option is enabled.
• Fixed bug where if you typed something in a field, then press Force Log (F6) without pressing {Tab} or otherwise exiting the field first, your changes to the field would be lost.
6.0.165 (9/11/2003)
• Added more detailed progress status to Web Callbooks.
• Removed Buckmaster from Web Callbooks. Buckmaster rasterized their output so that it is not machine-readable.
• Web callbook QRZ lookup now uses the url www.qrz.com instead of qrz.com. A few people reported problems with qrz.com.
The file that contains the web callbook list, data\web_callbooks.dbf, has been changed in this update. However, to make sure it installs, please manually delete data\web_callbooks before installing the update. Alternately, manually download web_callbooks.dbf from the FTP site and save it to the data folder. At least turn off Buckmaster in web callbooks setup. If you do not, and LOGic attempts to search Buckmaster, subsequent web callbook lookups will fail until you close and reopen the web callbook window.
6.0.162 (6/3/2003)
6.0.161 (4/9/2003)
6.0.156 (Mar 20, 2003)
• Downloads grid square and lat/lon from QRZ web callbook interface.
• Fixed band column header in progress forms.
6.0.151 (Feb 11, 2003)
• Web callbook lookup updated to support the new Buckmaster Hamcall site.
• New command line parameter: SetClockOnly=YES on the command line causes LOGic to set the system clock to the National Instititute of Standards & Technology (NIST) atomic clock, then exit. You can create a shortcut on the desktop, which you can merely click to set the system clock!
• The dialog box that appears when you use the manu option tomanually request LOGic to set the system clock to NIST now closes automatically in a few seconds if you do not click OK.
6.0.149 (Jan 28, 2003)
• Spot log no longer displays unused blank records.
• Fixed problem of duplicate spots showing up in spot log when using WebCluster.
• Log form(s) now close automatically when rescoring a contest. This prevents improper score from being displayed in the scoring form.
6.0.140 (Dec 31, 2002)
• You may now select the order of the spot log by Call, Time Posted, or Time Received. Click on the column header. Time Posted is provided by WebCluster only. If a spot is received from elsewhere, Time Posted is the same as Time Received
• While navigating in the spot log grid, the display will not update for ten seconds after any activity, even if scroll lock is off. Think of this as an automatic mini-scroll-lock.
• Improved preprocessing of webcluster spots. -@ is inserted inserted after the SPOT BY callsign when someone sends a spot over the internet. Also, the DXCC prefix is inserted by the Webcluster at the end of the comment field for some spots. This results in duplicate spots being displayed by Webcluster. LOGic removes this extemporaneous info so that it's dupe filtering eliminates the dupes.
• New option in spot log for mapping of spots. You may choose to plot all spots received on the map, or only needed spots. Preciously, all spots were plotted.
• Improved speed of processing incoming webcluster spots. Spots received rapid-fire from other sources will also process faster.
• The Canadian Island web site not only moved to http://www.qsl.net/ve3tpz/cisa/Canadian.html, but the format of the HTML has changed. As a result, previous versions of LOGic will not read it properly.
• New feature to automatically handle Daylight Savings Time changeover. You may operate during DST changeover, and UTC will stay correct. Auto changeover is the new default. Your system clock must be set to "Automatically adjust for Daylingt Savings Time". Go to LOGic's tools/setup/station info to check the settings. There is a button here to access the system control panel. Please check these settings in LOGic and the control panel after installing the update. You don't want any unpleasant surprises in April!
The only thing that won't update properly if DST changeover happens while operating is the map. To fix the display, click Forms/Map again, or close and reopen the map or LOGic.
The old manual UTC offset is still available for those who like to set their system clock to UTC or whatever.
• A label has been added to the log screen for Freq TX. It is hidden by default. To use it, unhide it and move it into position.
• Fixed spot log scroll lock.
• Fixed problem of wrong spot being processed if logging or setting rig after receiving a spot while scroll lock is on.
• Fixed problem where first spot listed by Webcluster was not being processed.
• Worked-around a problem logging RTTY spots when using TRX-Manager. Previously, the mode would not be set properly in TRX-Manager. RTTY spots are not passed to TRX-Manager, since this is what was causing the mode to be set improperly. Laurent will look into this.
• Fixed problem of Xverter offset settings with digits more than 2 places past the decimal not being reloaded into setup screen.
• {Esc} no longer closes callbook windows. We received complaints that people were accidentally closing it, thinking they are using the Undo keyboard shortcut in the log form.
• Fixed problem with Other QSOs window. Previously, If minimized on shutdown, it would still be normal on restart.
• New driver for Kenwood TS-2000 that polls the radio. The Auto Information feature apparently does not work on this rig.
• Fixed problem with Icom 775/756 driver not logging split frequency properly. Tnx KE4TV.
• Several bugs fixed--could not delete a state accidentally entered for a DX QSO. Buffer size for voice spots increased. Improper function keys sent if more than one terminal window was open. Intermittent problem with Callbook Batch Update when using web. Progress bars were not refreshing properly.
• Frequency fields now support up to 999 gHz.
• New Manage Radio Memories button on the Radio Memories form. Import and export to share with others. Rename, delete, and categories. Delete duplicate entries.
• New Favorites category for reports in Report menu. To make a report a favorite, modify it, and click the Favorites box in the Defaults and Description page.
Build 6.0.116 (July 1, 2002):
• New feature to import, export, and manage radio memories. Click the new button on the Radio Memories form. Send us your radio memory collections, and we'll put them on the FTP site to share with others!
• Fixed problem with not being able to clear state field.
• Fixed problem with MixW interface, where changing the call in MixW before saving would not change the call in LOGic.
• New function DEB() (deblank) removes all leading and trailing spaces, and all but one space between words. So for a RTTY function key, you could send
DEB("Hi " + NAME + ". How are things in " + QTH + " today?")
It will space properly when sent. This is easier than using TRIM() on each field:
"Hi " + trim(NAME) + ". How are things in " + trim(QTH) + " today?"
Build 6.0.111 (May 15, 2002):
• Fixed problem with Prosistel rotor control.
Build 6.0.110 (May 14, 2002):
• DigiPan and MixW interface was not working under XP. Fixed.
• Canadian Islands Update fixed to use new site. LOGic may remember the old URL. Change it to the new URL, or delete the file INTERNET.INI. The new URL is http://cm.quik.com/wd8mgq/cisa/Canadian.html
• Right-click the Check-in QSL button on the Browse window to check in a card and automatically perform a Get to retrieve the next record.
• When running or printing a report, the IMAGES directory inslide LOGic is now searched if the picture isn't found at the specified location.
• New option under File/Print lists all reports that have no category assigned. You could also access these reports with the All Reports option. However, the new option is a convenient way to identify imported LOGic 5 reports for you to assign a category to.
• Support for Prosistel rotor. There is about a 4-second delay when setting this rotor. This delay is required by the Prosistel interface. We cannot "fix" it.
• New Print option on the Rejects page of the Update Awards Progress Info screen.
• A few minor bugs were fixed.
Known issues not fixed:
• Edit/Copy, Edit/Cut, Edit/Paste menu options do not work from data forms when using the mouse. Use the keyboard commands instead.
Build 6.0.104 (Apr. 11, 2002):
• Fixed random information that showed up in the browse form for unused user-defined fields.
• Fixed restoring minimized window after program startup. Previously they would restore to the bottom of the main LOGic window.
• Fixed log form so that Browse window appears as the active form when opening, instead of data form.
• Fixed problem with entering dates in user-defined fields.
• Added button on log browse form to check in QSL card.
• Report writer now displays number of records to be printed, or alerts you if the print selection results in nothing to print.
• Auto Field Exit has been added to QSL Sent and QSL Rcvd fields.
• You may now specify an LPT port by address. For one customer, the mapping of LPT1 to the proper address did not work. To do this, open the CW keyer, go to Setup, and click Select Ports. Close the Select Port form. (This seemingly useless operation updates the .ini file). Now, open KEYER.INI in the LOGIC6 folder (double-click it), and modify the file as indicated. To see what address is currently in use, right-click the Select Ports button in the Keyer.
Build 6.0.102 (Apr. 1, 2002):
• The Terminal windows, including Telnet, HamScope, etc. now have the option to move from the main LOGic window to Windows desktop. There is a new checkmark under Options to control this.
• The WebCluster window may now be moved from the main LOGic window to the Windows desktop. Right-click like all other forms.
• A few customers reported problems with some windows being covered by other windows. These covered windows cannot be brought to the top by clicking on them. This problem is apparently video-card related. We cannot reproduce it on any of our 5 machines. We made some changes to this update that we think will resolve the problem. Let us know.
• Fixed problem doing multiple backups and a few other nuisance errors.
• Fixed problem filtering user-defined fields.
Build 6.0.101 (Mar 23, 2002):
Fixed: Lat, Lon, Time Zone, etc.. not saved when returning to Station Info setup • function key buttons on Telnet • several minor nuisance errors.
