Set the contest starting and ending dates so that they encompass the dates for the contest. Go to Tools/Misc Utilities, and select Rescore Contest.
A note about the contest start and end dates. They exist to keep previous contests separate from the current one. You may set the starting date before the contest actually starts. This is necessary if you are testing before the contest actually starts. Set the start date on or before the current UTC date.
You may set the ending date way off in the future so that you don't have to worry about it again. The reason LOGic 5 has a contest end date is so that you can score previous-years' contests.
The rules changes do not affect LOGic. The exchange field for this contest is not edited and will accept any value. Simply log the precedence in the sweepstakes exchange field as instructed in the description field of log/setup. For instance U71 is Unlimited, first licensed in 71.
Everything is working normally. Opening another log form doesn't open another database. It is possible to have multiple databases, but this is done only for DX operations or QSL managers or family members sharing the same compter.
You WANT the contest and non-contest QSOs in the same database so that your awards progress tracking works (isn't it nice to know when you work a new one during a contest?) and so that copy from previous QSOs will work. Many contests can copy exchanges from previous year's contests.
LOGic keeps contests separate using the Contest ID and the contest start and end dates entered in log/setup.
