In addition to instant online DXCC progress displays and a DXCC printout that is directly submissible for DXCC, LOGic 5 includes other niceties such as the Metric/English units conversion calculator and
DX calculator .
LOGic 5's unique gray line propagation aid prints a report of everywhere that is on or near the gray line. For each location that is within limits you specify, DX, direction, sunrise/sunset time, and sunrise/sunset time difference are shown. Your local sunrise/sunset time and the directions the gray line extends from your QTH are also printed.
LOGic 5 incorporates a complete QSL manager database system in the logging screen. Quickly check to see if a station is on file, and add it if it is not. A 40,000-record QSL route database with periodic updates is available on a subscription basis. It may be integrated with your own data and is accessed by the QSL manager screen.
LOGic 5's packet cluster interface brings automated spotting to a new
level. LOGic 5 will alert you not only for needed DXCC countries, but also for needed
zones, oblasts, prefixes, IOTAs, or anything else that can be determined from the callsign. An
optional audible CW or voice alert (Windows compatible card required to voice) describes
the type of award being spotted. Voice alert additionally describes the entity being
spotted, the band, and mode. The voice announcement feature multitasks in background, so
you may continue to use LOGic 5 or other programs while announcements are being made. The
spot log may be easily searched.
Spot alerts may be enabled or disabled for any award on any combination of bands and modes. Select any combination of not worked any band or mode, needed this band, needed this mode, or needed this band and mode. Choose spotting for not worked, no QSL received, or QSL requested but not received. Color coding makes it easy to see the status of each spot.
You may easily transfer a spot to the log and set the radio to the proper frequency and mode by double-clicking it. You may also set the radio to a spot without logging it. The auto-follow option will set the rig to all incoming spots for hands-off monitoring of band activity.
Spotting may be done from your local TNC, and if you have an internet connection, from Telnet or the DX Summit (formerly OH2BUA) WebCluster.
Spots may be easily posted to all or any combination ot Packet, Telnet, Webcluster windows, or to an individual window. Split-frequency operation is supported.
