LOGic 5 includes a CW Keyer that can send Morse code
through a parallel printer port. Programmable function keys can send short IDs or complete
exchanges using data from the log. A dual-window keyboard interface with typeahead
buffering is also provided. The top window shows characters as you type them. The bottom
window shows characters as they are sent. You may correct typos with the {Backspace} key.
Any combination characters may be transmitted without remembering arcane keystrokes. Just
prefix the compound character with '. For example 'BT, 'SK & 'KN. Speed, weight,
Farnsworth, as well as space between words, characters, and character elements are fully
adjustable. Speed change may be done on-the-fly while transmitting.
You may compose a message for transmission while receiving.
A schematic for building an interface circuit is included, or you may purchase an inexpensive assembled unit with opto-isolation from PDA.
LOGic also supports voice keying using a standard sound card for pusbutton transmission of .wav files.
PTT for CW and Voice is accomplished by your rig's VOX, QSK, or by a keyed PTT line sharing the same parallel port as the keyer interface.
