Hello,

This week I uploaded 52000 contacts to the LOTW, 40 years of ham radio activity!

I uploaded directly from the ARRL TQSL program using an ADI file exported from my Logic 9.20.11.
LOTW already confirmed about 22000 contacts.

Now I would like to transfer/import those confirmation from LOTW to Logic:

The help info in the program looks not very updated and very clear for me,
so would you please tell how to do it and the tips toking care of my todays database and
what I should take care of after the importation.

Looking forward the reply.
Thanks and best 73
Horacio

Horacio,
Best way is the use LOGic

Click QSLing>Import LoTW QSLs

A pop-up box will appear. Enter LoTW Web User: LU1BJW
Type in your password and then type password again to Verify.

Check the box for Download only QSOs by LU1BJW -your callsign should be entered.

Click Import directly from web.

It can take a several minutes especially for first time user with large logs. Don't get discouraged to quickly if nothing is happening.

After the Import is complete a pop-up box will appear showing the imported Qsos.
Click Automatically Check in these QSLs
Click Yes to mark the QSLs received.

Try this, 73 Kyle

Today I updated Logic to Version 9.20.12

And then follow your instruccions and I can't download the confirmations from the LOTW.

Note: With the same user and password used in Logic from I can OPEN LOTW SITE IN BROWSER.

After "Click Import directly from web"

The message is: username/password incorrect and the HTML info are:

Make sure you are using your LoTW username and password to download. Try retyping the passwords and click Import directly from web.

Thanks for your reply.

I retype.
I login at https://lotw.arrl.org/lotw/login and both user and password works.
If I made left click over "ïmport direct from web" I can see the username and password and both are the same I use to log in https://lotw.arrl.org/lotw/login

Dear Horacio:

I just had a phone call last week with someone with the same problem. I think the user and password really is wrong, but it works in your browser because it remembers the correct password from a previous login. We logged in and changed his password, told LOGic the new password, and it works.

If you continue to experience problems, please try this.

Download the new 9.20.12 update to LOGic.

Right-click the IMPORT DIRECTLY FROM WEB button. This will put the URL that LOGic uses in the Windows clipboard. Paste into the address bar of your browser. You can see the user and password that is being sent to the ARRL. This is the user and password is stored in LOGic. Make sure it is correct.

Press{Enter}. Normally, it would download an ADIF file.

If you want, paste that URL into an email. Do not paste it here -- it has your password in it. I will try it here, and if I have the same problem will call the ARRL for you. If you contact them yourself, just send them that URL. Don't confuse them with LOGic. If you mention LOGic, they will just tell you to contact me.

Let me know.

Tnx for using LOGic.

Dennis WN4AZY

Dear Dennis,

Thanks for your reply.

Fist of all I updated the Logic to 9.20.12 before try all of this.

I understand what do you meant about browser cache or saved passwords (I use Chrome) but I tried
with Internet Explorer and is the same. When I paste on them the link saved after click the "import direct from the web" to copy the link
both browsers shows the screen of the lotw inviting me to fill the Username and password. So do not login automatically.

I have a software (splashid) to admin passwords and usernames, so I don't type anything I just copy and paste from that software so the chance
of typing error is zero.

I will send you the link with by a private email so you can test.

Thanks for your support.

Horacio

Thanks -- I got your email and saw the problem. LOGic was not handling some non-alphanumeric characters in passwords correctly.

This has been fixed and tested.

Please get the latest 9.20.13 update.

Many tnx & 73,

Hi Dennis,

When updating LOGic, you get a box that asks you to select components:

Install the Prefix Table. Your User entries will be retained. 0.6 MB
Do not install the Prefix Table update. Your user entries will be retained.
Install factory prefix table. Your user entries will be DISCARDED. 0.6 MB
Install the PDA QSL route list. Your entries in the QSL route list will be retained. 6.0 MB
Install new awards lists, membership lists and user-defined fields. 133.5 MB
Install factory modes table. Your user mode entries will be DISCARDED.

I see "Install new awards lists, membership lists and user-defined fields. 133.5 MB" at every update but I always leave that box unchecked.

If I check the box, will any of my user defined awards lists, membership lists and user-defined fields be discarded?
What advantage is there to have this installed?

Thank you,
Vin, 73

Hi--

It won't overwrite anything. It will just update some of your lists if there are missing entities. If we add a user-defined field that we use in LOGic, it will update those too. An example is LOTW SENT DATE.

I recommend making a copy of the LOGic folder which is in c:\program files (x86)

Just right-click, then copy, then paste. It will make a copy of the folder named LOGic (Copy). That way it is easy to recover from any situation.

Tnx & 73,

Dennis WN4AZY

Good morning!

After making a copy of the SAFETYLOG files, making a logger export and a backup with the backup tool,
finally last night I run the menu "QSLing / import LOTW qsl" as Kyle indicated. This time it was the first time
therefore the 22567 qsl of the LOTW had to be synchronized against the +52000 qso of my LOGIC 9.
After a few hours Logic had downloaded 21418 QSL.
I think the operation was a success.

Thank you very much for the support to Logic community.
