I want to build a custom adif export file. Can this be done without destroying the built in export capability? And if this is possible how can I access the custom file for future use. I cannot see any way to save the customized file under its own name or how to access it later.

David,
You can write a little "LOGic" program to do this. In the ..LOGic\util directory are many such "programs" that would provide guidance.
Look at "asciiexport.PRG" or "export_dxatlas_squares.prg" for general guidance.

Forgot to mention Dennis has a Youtube on this that might be enough for your needs.

Thanks Don.

David, I second looking at that video. You can basically set LOGic up to have two ADIF export profiles.

What is your need exactly? ADIF is designed such that if you send more data than wanted by the importer, it will simply ignore what it doesn't want. With disk space and internet bandwidth being so plentiful these days, we probably wouldn't have bothered with the Basic fields feature when first implementing ADIF into LOGic. We watch video online day in and day out and store hours of video on our computers, so a little more text data doesn't matter.

I leave everything checked as Basic except for multi-line fields (Notes and Addresses) because you get a cleaner-looking ADIF file that is easier to read by eye.

Tnx & 73,
