Below, you can download the latest LOGic 8 update.

Important note: Check your current version of LOGic by clicking Help/About. If it is version 8.0.97 or earlier, you must perform the following steps before installing the update:

Delete the file CALLBOOKS.DBF from the LOGic8\LogData folder. DO NOT delete CALLBOOK.DBF! Delete only CALLBOOKS.DBF (plural). (If you delete the wrong file, reinstall your original CD-ROM on top of your current installation -- do not uninstall first. This will recover the missing file.)

Click Show to see changes to prior versions:
[SPOILER]
8.0.103 (Jan 31, 2011)

•Updated to accomodate changes in DX Summit webcluster.

•Updated to accomodate changes in QRZ Online Subscription

•ADIF import improved. Previously, all fields that did not match up with a field in LOGic's field list (Tools/Setup/Log Fields) were imported as a userfield. However, this was causing LOGic's user fields space to fill up when the ADIF file had many unwanted fields.

Important note: If upgrading from a version prior to 8.0.97, please see the Important Note for 8.0.97 below.

8.0.101 (Jan 20, 2010)

•Fixed OPEN LoTW SITE IN BROWSER button on LoTW forms.
Important note: If upgrading from a version prior to 8.0.97, please see the Important Note for 8.0.97 below.

8.0.100 (Apr 22, 2010)

•Fixed problem with Awards Report Prefer LoTW/Prefer Paper feature.
•Update should now install in Vista or Win 7 with User Account Control turned on.
Important note: If upgrading from a version prior to 8.0.97, please see the Important Note for 8.0.97 below.

8.0.98 (Jan, 2010)

•Update Awards Progress info permits input of more calls in the "List of operators to be considered when talling awards."
•Radio timeouts give more detailed info.
•FT-9000/2000/950/450 split logging fixed.
Important note: If upgrading from a version prior to 8.0.97, please see the Important Note for 8.0.97 below.

8.0.97 (Oct 26, 2009)

•Fixed for changes to VE and SM callbooks.

•Fixed for changes QRZ Subscription state and county lookup, as well as download of additional pictures in Bio.

•May have fixed problem with callbook generating an error when performing a second lookup while a first is still in progress.

Important note: Before installing this update, please delete the file CALLBOOKS.DBF from the LOGic8\LogData folder. DO NOT delete CALLBOOK.DBF! Delete only CALLBOOKS.DBF (plural). (If you delete the wrong file, reinstall your original CD-ROM on top of your current installation -- do not uninstall first. This will recover the missing file.)

Then click SETUP in the Callbook form to reconfigure the callbooks to your liking--enable QRZ subscription if appropriate, etc.

8.0.96 (Sept 9, 2009)

•Fixes to callbook interface, and eQSL.

8.0.95 (July 12, 2009)

•Modified to handle changes to eQSL site affecting QSL Card download.

8.0.94 (May 26, 2009)

•Modified to handle changes to DX Summit site.

8.0.93 (Apr 20, 2009)

•Support for MDS RC1 rotor. Select the MDS RC1 driver instead of DCU-1. This rotor's STOP command is different than the DCU-1.

•Fix for error "Application already running" when restarting LOGic, experienced by a few customers.

8.0.92 (Jan 2, 2009)

•Posting spots to new DX Summit site now supported.

8.0.91 (Dec 24, 2008)

•Update to accomodate the new QRZ.COM callbook site.

•Disk buffers flushed after expanding spot log file. System crash could cause corruption of spot log file.

8.0.89 (Aug 8, 2008)

•Fixed security certificate error related to Logbook of the World. Changed URLs from www... to p1k...

8.0.88 (Aug 5, 2008)

•Fixed error "Member ITEM does not evaluate to an object" when trying to use DX Summit, and you are not connected to the internet, or DX Summit is down.

8.0.87 (Jul 21, 2008)

•DX Summit interface fixed, for now at least!

8.0.86 (Jun 23, 2008)

•Better handling of errors resulting from DX Summit apparently sending erroneous data, or if you use the wrong URL. A notification will appear rather than a program error.

Apparently DX Summit no longer uses AJAX for partial-page updates. Today, we noticed that the page reloads every minute as usual. LOGic will now work with either scheme.

NOTE: DX Summit appears to still be in a state of change. We have discontinued development on this for a week or two until things stabilize. Please use DXScape or Telnet in the meantime. (June 28, 2008)

8.0.85 (May 29, 2008)

•Support for the new DX Summit webcluster site.

If you get an error "No Table Selected..." after installing, it is because you manually changed the URL, and logic is using that instead of the new default (http://www.dxsummit.fi/DxSpots.aspx?count=25&range=1). To fix this, edit file named INTERNET.INI which is inside your LOGic8 folder. Just double-click it. (Depending on how you have your Windows Explorer set up, the file name may just show as INTERNET.) Delete the URL line under the [webcluster] section. Or, just delete the whole file. Restart LOGic.

Note that the new DX Summit site does not repeatedly download as the old one did. It updates the client (your computer) automatically. Watch the browser window in LOGIc's DX Summit form, and you can see the contents refresh without the page reloading. The interval timer just controls how often LOGic processes the information that is sent to it.

Other than smoother spot log updates, this does not affect how LOGic runs or how you use the cluster. We just mention it so that no one gets concerned that you no longer see "Downloading..." appear periodically in the Status field as before. This is normal for the new DX Summit site.

We have not yet implemented posting spots to the new site.

Note, the .84 build parsed date posted incorrectly. Now fixed.

8.0.83 (Apr 24, 2008)

•New Cabrillo format for BARTG RTTY contest.

•Changed URL for Norwegia•Support for the new DX Summit webcluster site. After installing, make sure the URL points to http://www.dxsummit.fi/D...x?count=25&range=1. If it does not, click the EDIT button and enter this URL manually.

Note that LOGic does not periodically reload this page as it did with the old DX Summit system. The DX Summit server keeps LOGic's copy updated automatically. The timer simply controls how often LOGic processes the page. This does not affect operation. We mention it only so no one gets concerned that you no longer see DOWNLOADING in the status field.

We have not yet implemented support for posting spots to the new site.

8.0.83 (Apr 24, 2008)

•FT-2000/9000 split operation and A=B fixed. Not tested. Let us know...

8.0.79 (Dec 17, 2007)

•FCC web callbook updated to support changes to FCC site.

•ULAR web callbook updated to support changes to their site.

•OMISS membership import updated to support changes to their site.

•SKCC membership import updated to indicate Tribune members.

•Resolved problem of LOGic timing out when downloading the FCC callbook. The Import FCC form now downloads at normal processor priority, regardless of the setting chosen (Processing still occurs at the selected priority level.) Also increased timeout. This will be more reliable when their site gets slow. Now uses HTTP instead of FTP. Make sure the URL is set to the new location:

http://wireless.fcc.gov/...ata/complete/l_amat.zip

You can always download l_amat.zip using Internet Explorer or other client. Save to the TMP folder inside of the LOGic8 folder. Then click the Proceess tab, then the Process button.

•Fixed problem with OPEN LOTW SITE IN BROWSER in LoTW Import form. Was generating an error when invoking more than once.

•Removed AUTO LOG option from Telnet forms. It should not be needed for anything. People were turning it on then wondering why spots were showing up in the log form.

•FT-2000/9000 split operation fixed. Not tested. Let us know...

8.0.78 (Sep 20, 2007)

•Cabrillo export for IOTA contest added

•SKCC download changed to new site.

•eQSL download form now supports an upcoming feature that will allow you to download only QSLs posted since your last download. This feature has been implemented in LOGic, and has been tested. •Support for download of membership list from the new 3905CC website.

8.0.59 (Oct 27, 2006)

•New option for saving changes. Previously, there was one option that could be turned on that would prompt before saving any changes to your log, be they new records or changes to old records. Now, you may specify prompting for changes for new records or changed records independently. Click Tools/Options on the main menu bar.

•Better formatting of Bio info from QRZ subscription.

If you get an error "Variable GUID not found" or QRZ subscription does not work, please download and install the update again. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Tnx & 73,
