Dennis, don't know if this is the LOTW site or what, but as of today I'm having repeated upload failures.

The error message says, verbatim, "upload failed", with no other information. It is a message out of IE. It does this after the web browser has already opened the LOTW main page and performed a successful logon with LOTW. I'm thinking it's probably an issue with LOTW.

OBTW, it worked fine day before yesterday.

LoTW is up sometimes and broken at others. If you look at the ARRL news page you will see that they are working on the problem at the League.

This problem started Sunday afternoon.

I can export and upload it manually, but you cannot do it automatically, you always get the "Upload Failed" message. Checking the log on LoTW shows the successful upload done manually. you just can't do it automatically.

Dennis,

Getting same message here for 2 days. They probably changed servers because of the denial of service attacks so can you check that out to make sure we are uploading to the correct server now? When you log into the LOTW website and do a manual upload that works but this way can cause duplicate records in the long run. Your quick response is appreciated.

Tnx & 73,

Ron

It now looks like LOGic is actually uploading the data, it is just reporting that it is not. Note the browser -- it says it uploaded it.

The problem is that the web page has removed the backslashes from the filename that LOGic uploaded when displayed by the browser. LOGic is expecting to see that the actual file it attempted to upload was indeed the one that was received. With the missing backslashes, the names no longer match.

I am working on a fix now.

Try this. Put it in your LOGic install folder. The version is .71. I'll release an official update soon.

Hello
I installed version .71 to try uploading to lotw.
Having to transfer all the contest JARTS, I preferred, when in doubt to extrapolate only a QSO with the filter and record the file in adif.
I've enabled the upload procedure on lotw using a file transfer adif by clicking the appropriate button.
The result of the procedure: "Upload Failed"
I do something wrong?
LOTW announced that the site would be closed for maintenance from 22:00 to 01:00 utc on 22-23 October. They must have had problems ??
Thanks for your comments.

Hi Mauro:

Look in the browser window that opens. That will tell you WHY it didn't upload. If it isn't anything obvious, post a screen shot here and I will take a look.

Thanks,

Dennis

I encountered the same problem several weeks ago. When I downloaded the latest update then, LOGic would not load - it gave me several error messages, beginning with unknown com status and ending with global object not found.

I cured the problem with a re-install using my original disc - everything worked properly again.

Then, LOTW quit uploading or downloading thanks to the latest ARRL changes. I downloaded your fix and now have the same problem with loading LOGic.
There evidently is something in the later versions that don't agree with my Windows 8.1 OS.

I have used LOGic since the days of LOGic II, and have never found anything that can compare to it. If I have to, I guess I can re-install it and run without the updates, but I really do need LOTW.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jess, W8JY

Hi Jess:

There is no problem with Win 8.1 and LOGic per se.

Later tonight I will email you a complete new install of 9.0.71. Some folks have gotten this Unknown COM Status Code error when updating from a really old version of 9.

Just install on top of your current installation.

Let me know.

Tnx & 73,

Dennis WN4AZY

Well I downloaded the new setup file and ran it according to instructions. I am still getting the same error messages.

Would uninstalling LOGic9 (after backing up the files), then re-installing the new setup file cure the problem?
I must have something in the original file that has become corrupted.

Thanks, Jess, W8JY

Dennis, I downloaded and installed the new setup file. I still get the same error messages.

I assume my next step should be to delete the current LOGic9 program (after backing up log files, etc.), and then re-install the new setup file.

Any other suggestions before I do this? Also, I need to know which log form configuration files I need to preserve.

Thanks,

Jess, W8JY
