Hi Dennis,
I changed my 7600 with 7610 and no problems with 7600 driver. I have modified the CI-V address to 7A on 7610.
All doing fine job. I dont know what happens with the two separate different vfo. The 7700 driver (supporting two separate vfo??) would be used for that and changing the CI-V addr into 7610 as before?
Hi Clint, try and good dx with IC-7610.
Thanks

New models of Icoms are pretty easy to interface to. The Icom Basic will work with any Icom rig. It is just a matter of finding the LOGic driver that supports the features of your particular rig.

Does the rig have a A/B vfo or main/sub? Start selecting a LOGic driver based on that. Then whether it has filter control or not, and then if you can control split. Very few of the older rigs permit READING split status. That may have changed.

As for the address, if your rig is not in the dropdown, simply type the address into LOGic. It is not necessary to change the default address on the rig. What is the default address of the 7610? Let me know and I will add it to the dropdown.

Does the main/sub or A/B work on the 7610 when using the 7600 driver? If so I will add the 7610 to the description.

Tnx & 73,

Hi Dennis,
the 7600 logic driver work ok, olny to chnge CI-V address.
Switch vfo a/b is OK
Filters W/N/M is OK
Split is OK
Dual RX is OK but into Logic panel also split button (with DR) is automatically pressed but no execute command to 7610.
Of course the direction command is Logic to 7610.
The CI-V default address into 7610 is 98h.
I hope I have answered all your questions.
I'm ready for other yous question if needed.
Thanks for all

Thanks for the info. I added the 7610 address to LOGic's dropdown. I also added a tooltip advising that you can type the address if it is not in the list. It will be in the next release.

Quote:

So does the DUAL button in LOGic do nothing? I checked and the button is sending data to the radio.

Tnx & 73,

Dennis WN4AZY

Hi Dennis,
Dual Rx its OK.
Dual botton (DR) pressed in Logic light on the Dual-W in the transceiver, no problem.
Here the question:
At the same time into Logic panel near DR is auto pressed also SPLIT button but it has no effect on the transmitter.
Its right pressing DR in Logic panel the split button is also activated without effect?
If i press Duql-W in the transceiver nothing happens to the split.
I hope I have explained my concept better, hi.
Thanks for all Dennis

Just a followup note in case someone is having trouble getting the 7610 to talk. One customer called who could not get the 7610 using the built-in Silicon Labs USB=>RS-232 Adapter. He got an OLE error from the 7600 driver in LOGic. The solution was to use the legacy Icom Plus driver.

I do not know why we have not run into this before. The Silicon Labs stuff seems solid. He had some Prolific USB=>RS232 devices which could have been interfering. He will try removing them.

Tnx & 73,

Dennis WN4AZY
