When I am monitoring for DX, the voice will many times not announce the call letters but the "Sub" column word "Marathon" or "Challenge"

How do I get it to just announce the call letters of the station ?

Hi--

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. If you don't care about CHALLENGE and MARATHON, you can disable them in tools/setup/log fields.

LOGic only announces the callsign if the spot is not needed for anything and SHOW ALL is checked. If it is a needed entity, the assumption is that you won't care what the call is for the announcement. You just want to be alerted to run into the shack.

Well, I guess I'm just stupid, but I went in there and I have no idea how to delete those things.

I have no idea what "Marathon" or "Challenge" is and what they are for.

I could not find anything in tools setup fields related to the above words except maybe "AllBANDDX"

Every time I would go into the "fields" column "Track" where it indicates "Y", and I type in "N", I get an error saying "The field name must not be blank".

It isn't blank because I typed in an "N" and I have to use escape to get back out.

Ok, Challenge and Marathon are subsets (subawards) of DXCC. Between certain dates only for instance.

Go to tools/setup/log fields, spotting, and awards tracking. Scroll up and down or click the binoculars to get the DXCC field on the screen.

To disable them, simply uncheck SPOT to the right of Marathon and Challenge. It is the center column of checkboxes. Note the column headers.
