Dennis,

I have installed Logic 9 on a new computer running Windows 8.1. All of Logic's features seem to work properly
, however frequently stops working and I get the following error message and the Logic closes.

Logic.exe has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

The program closes with no response regarding a solution.

This occurs when I browsing through my recent contacts in the Main log window.

I have updated my video drivers for this machine.

Windows 8 provides a log file associate with this error. Please let me know
the best way to send it to you, if you feel it would be beneficial!

Thanks in advance,

Robie - AJ4F

Hi Robie:

Sri for the problem.

Is this a new computer, when did it start acting up?

You can zip the file and attach it to a post here, or email it to me.

Video cards typically aren't an issue anymore. The thorn in our flesh now is incompatible USB=>RS232 stuff. Try disabling any radio interfaces and see if the problem disappears.

Tnx & 73,

Dennis,

Thanks! I sent the error file via e-mail.

I will experiment as you suggested and see if the problem goes away.

Several comments:

1. the computer is new! A Dell desktop.

2. the problem seems to be intermittent. I will experiment more and see.

3. In general all Logic 9 features that I normally use seem to function properly.

73,

Got the file you sent. It is a text file, you can look at it in notepad BTW.

That C00005 error is a general error that occurs when something gets corrupted. I stand my initial guess! Let me know what happens when you disable anything using a non-FTDI USB=>RS232 adapter.

Tnx & 73,

Dennis

Dennis,

I am using a RigExpert Plus interface between my radio and my computer. I do not know what kind of adapter it uses. However, the problem disappeared shortly after my post 4 days ago and has not reappeared! My computer was restarted several times while loading other software. Obviously, something was changed. Logic 9 is working well now on my Windows 8.1 machine.

Thanks for your support!
